We believe that in order for children to learn, they need to feel safe both emotionally and mentally and therefore we work to build resilience in children. Everyday starts with an MMG (Morning Meet and Greet session), this can involve circle time activities, talking therapy activities, relaxation exercises, Mindspace sessions and is tailored to the individual and the class. Staff are available to meet children on the playground and at the classroom doors.
Our Family support team concentrate on providing early help to families. This can be with anything from attendance to healthy lunchboxes. The Family Support Team are the key workers who pick up on the earliest signs of dissonance, absenteeism, trauma or other difficulties which may impact on children’s readiness for learning.
